Humble Beginnings.....

Hauora Tangata has been a conscious pursuit for many years, birthed out of the hearts of the founders, Aaron and Kimberley Murphy.  While living in Western Australia, Aaron for many years worked within holistic wellbeing clinics and it was from there, that sparked the idea to bring home this concept to Aotearoa.

Upon returning to Aotearoa, Aaron and Kimberley felt the desire to reconnect with their cultural identity by immersing themselves in Te Reo Maori while simultaneously launching what initially started out as Hale Health Centre in 2016.  The dream was always to provide a Holistic Wellbeing Hub for the community but after the first year of opening they started to realise the growing need for better health services within the community and desired to improve outcomes for Māori.

As they started to learn more about their culture and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and Te Ao Māori, they started to weave these learnings throughout the business, providing different approaches to improving health outcomes.

Over the years as the business has grown, the past and present experiences, services, knowledge and growing health and wellbeing needs, these have all contributed to how the business has evolved, changing from Hale Health Centre to Hauora Tangata.  Despite slight changes the core essence remains the same and continues to exist for the purpose of providing a safe space to uplift hauora and help whānau move towards mauri ora!
